What is a corporate document apostille?
Expanding abroad — opening a foreign bank account, registering a subsidiary, bidding on a tender, or signing an international contract — usually means proving your company documents are genuine. That proof is the apostille.
How a corporate document is apostilled depends on what it is. State-filed records like Articles of Incorporation or Articles of Organization are apostilled from a certified copy issued by the Secretary of State, which authenticates its own record. Internal or private documents — bylaws, corporate resolutions, powers of attorney, and contracts — must first be signed and notarized, and the Secretary of State then apostilles the notary's signature.
We handle both routes: obtaining certified copies of your filed documents, arranging notarization for internal ones, routing each to the correct Secretary of State, and coordinating certified translation for your destination — all on one timeline.

Corporate apostille questions, answered
Straight answers to what clients ask us most. Don't see yours? We're one call away.
Do I need a certified copy from the Secretary of State, or a notarized copy?+
It depends on the document. State-filed records — Articles of Incorporation or Organization — are apostilled from a certified copy the Secretary of State issues of its own record. Internal or private documents — bylaws, corporate resolutions, powers of attorney, and contracts — must be notarized first, and then the Secretary of State apostilles the notary. We determine which route each document needs.
What's the difference between Articles of Incorporation, Articles of Organization, and a certificate of good standing?+
Articles of Incorporation form a corporation; Articles of Organization form an LLC; a certificate of good standing confirms the entity is active and compliant today. They're different documents — we apostille all of them, and often ship them together.
Can you obtain certified copies of our filed documents?+
Yes. You don't need to dig up your originals — we order certified copies of your state-filed records directly from the Secretary of State and move straight into the apostille.
Can you apostille a contract or agreement?+
Yes. A contract is a private document, so we notarize the signatory's signature first and the Secretary of State then apostilles that notarization. We coordinate signing, notarization, and authentication together.
We're opening a bank account abroad — what do they usually require?+
Foreign banks commonly ask for apostilled Articles of Incorporation or Organization plus a certificate of good standing, and sometimes bylaws or a board resolution. Tell us the bank and country and we'll assemble and apostille the whole set.
Do corporate documents need a certified translation?+
Often, yes — foreign registries and banks usually require the documents in the local language. We add a certified translation in the correct order for the destination.
